Videos from Various Projects
Pearson 35 - There is a new dodger, bimini and winch cover. We also modified the mainsail cover. It has a Dutchman furling system on it. The cutouts had exposed zippers. We put flaps over the zips and booties at the top to protect the sail from UV damage.
Searay 21 - The customer wanted atight fitting boat cover that would shed water. Unfortunately when the cover got wet, it sagged a wee bit. It was just enough that the cushion back would create a dam and collect water. We solved the problem by putting a couple of battens under tension under the cover to lift it up so it would drain properly.
Mariner 47 - This is the forward end of a complete enclosure from the inside. There are exterior pictures under Completed Projects
Beneteau Sense 50 - As you will see in the video, we have done quite a bit of work on this boat. The bimini and dodger frame were custom built by JZ Custom Rails here in Kemah, Tx. We covered them with Taupe Sunbrella. We have also made salon window covers, cockpit sunshades, a boom awning, companionway cover in both sunbrella and mesh, and a couple of skylight covers for the boat.
Pilgrim 40 - We are in middle of making new canvas for this boat. So far we have done the aft screens including doors, pilot house window covers, fwd hatchcover, topside butterfly hatch cover. Still to come coaming covers around boat and some hand rail covers.
This is a brief video of part of the Blessing of the Fleet that occurs in Kemah, Tx every year in May. This video was shot as we were coming in from Galveston Bay after a day of sailing in May 2014.
Searay 58 - This was a 3 part project that we did on this boat. The customer wanted to accomplish 3 things.
First he wanted to have a windshield that would have a windshield wiper he could use in inclement weather. This was accomplished by putting in a 28x28 inch safety glass insert with wiper in the front window.
Second, he wanted some screens on the inside of the glass on the bridge deck to cut down the heat and protect his upholstery from the sun. We put removeable 70% phifertex screens on all of his windows. The nice thing about 70% mesh is that you can remove the fwd sections and still still see through the material very well on the sdies and to the aft.
Third, he wanted an aft cover for the deck. He had a mooring cover, but it made it difficult to use the seats along the aft end of the boat. The new cover we made went over a stainless steel bow that we put behind the seating area. This raised the aft end of the cover and now allows him to use the seats there. The section of the mesh in the arch actually zips out. The side panels have also been made in Sunbrella fabric and are designed so that the sections are interchangeable with the mesh so that you could continue to use it even when the weather isn't the best. We also made a Sunbrella cover that goes over the top of the enclosure for inclement weather.
Hunter 336 - The customer wanted to remake all of his canvas. He uses his boat to assist the Sailing Angels program in taking people with disabilities out sailing. This would give them a more comfortable ride. To that end we have made new hatchcovers, a mainsail cover, windshield, biminis, companionway cover and wheel cover for his boat.
